"Harap Alb"

This is a Romanian folklore story about bravery and love. Harap Alb in English will translate as "Blackish White". Is a story about one of the King's son, the younger one, he is actually called Harap Alb.  He is fighting with his fears to achieve his father's recognition. It is a beautiful story with involvement of mythologic and holy characters

"Catch the color"

It is a story about a grandfather and his granddaughter. This idea came when I attended Animation Worksheep in Romania. I would like to work on this idea there at the workshop, but it didn't happen like this.

"Ziopi"

Ziopi is a forest being. He respond for the light and peace. Ziopi is very innocent and he meets a lot of strange things in the forest.

P.S. One of my dream is founding a school of animation for children. I would like to spread and share this beautiful knowledge with others. 

Note: I have passed the TOEFL IBT test on 7 March 2015. I will receive the results after a month. If my score will be 80 (or more) I will attach the paper with scores to my application.

Movement

My choice was to represent movement throught sports. I think it is very ellegant and also there are a lot of shapes and ungles to study from. I think sports allows me to experience a variety of forms and positions.

Life drawing

Life drawing is the category which I enjoy very much.

Perspective

I think that perspective is that thing which make a drawing to look interesting. In animation for instance is very exiting to use different ungles and views. Perspective in some movies is one of the strongest points which determine how creative an director is.

First sketches are traditional views used in films and cartoons. My choice was to start with general sketches and after go for details.

Freestyle

TiTi.

Titi is one of the personal project upon that I have been working till now. I think it is not something that I will finish one day. It is an open project, a place for inspiration. Very often when I am not inspired or unmoody, I use to rely on this project. Titi is a character, a little girl who is learning that precious things in life can be attained by using imagination and not money. It is a story inspired from my life.

 I added this project in freestyle, because for it I used a variety of media. I enjoy animated movies which are made in a hand drawn manner (ex: The Dam Keeper; Ernest and Celestine; Tante Hilda etc.). For Titi backgrounds I made some gouche texture, and after I painted them with crayons and pastels. I love experiments, even if not often they are succesful, but after I know for sure that they didn't work.

These drawings were made when I was preparing for my diploma in lyceum. Sketches from left are made in oil pastel. The painting from the right is 40*40 inches. It is made in oil.

 

Optional

    In Optional section I decided to add works which I made when I worked at frimufilms studio . Especially recent one.

RED.

    First of all are works made for first children's book. For this project I worked like Illustrator, Character designer and animator. It was a fun project to work on, and it was frimufilms studio's first attempt to work on such things. Here is the trailer LINK.

PIGS. 

      Next works are from the second project, which also dedicated to children. I had the same function as previous. I did covers, backgrounds, characters and animation for this book.

Alice in Wonderland.

     The last book was about "Alice in wonderland". On this project I worked on backgrounds, characters and animation.

Waterball.

       Waterball is the different project from those from above. Waterball is a game for phones. I worked on it's advertising nearly a mounth. I made concept of characters and also the story acompanied with storyboard. Here is the animatic which I did for Waterball and the final animation on which I worked.
